As the large amount of computers and the development of internet technology, Internet influenced our society more and more. The grass-root idols became popular by new media and had many fans. This essay tried to explain the reason, method and process of a grass-root idol. People had idols from the ancient time. Nowadays, people also need idols, especially in recent China. Although when we are surfing on the Internet, it is not as real as our real life. It is established by language and words. People have true feelings like our living word. If we could catch those feelings, and add the good spirit and our Chinese cultural to the grass-idols, then we could find out grass-idols have both modern breath and Chinese cultural. Meanwhile, the writer wanted to find out the relationship between the grass-root idols and the youth. Finally, suggestions of the future of the grass-root idols turned out. People need idols. Nowadays, we also need idols to help us to deal with difficulties. Although the world of Internet isn't so real, people who use the computer have the same feelings as they in real life. So, we should bring people idols with optimistic values and give hope to the youth. The youth are the future of our country. The grass-idols could give power to the youth and give suggestions to them. So the grass-root idols should give enjoinment and encouragement to the youth. It also has very important meaning to the whole society. The author wrote this essay by reading materials and doing research. From May to August,2010, the author did the research in Nanjing Normal University, Shanghai University, Henan University, West Finance and Economy University and Changzhou No.24 Middle School. So, the author got the useful and first hand data. Besides the materials, there was the data as a supplement to support the argument.
