As China nowadays is in a period of social change, outwards to face the ever-changing international situation, inwards to unswervingly carry out internal reforms,emergencies can be described as endless and it is really an extremely urgent task for the media of our country charged with the social service function of reform and opening up to do a good job in reporting incidents.This paper, using content analysis with the necessary quantitative research, examined the content and form of "9·11" incident reports on "The New York Times", analyzed reporting techniques and its report tone, and from the ideological, cultural background and the concept of media, analyzed the reporting strategy,reporting methods and successful experience of "New York Times". Finally, some suggestions were given to improve the level of incidents reporting of our country.
