It has been ten years since "9·11" incident happened, and research on the incident and the consequent emergencies caused by disasters are of fill volumes. Studies about"The New York Times"also has a large number. But overall, the study making "9·11" incident reports on "New York Times" as a case is also one of the few systematic Speaking of emergencies, the "9·11" incident of the century was a case that can not be ignored. As the heavyweight media of the world, "New York Times", its large-scale, long-time reports about this incident are exemplary. Not only far-reaching, and its follow-up stories almost stretch so far. The reports made by "New York Times" on it are still good learning materials for us after all. As China nowadays is in a period of social change, outwards to face the ever-changing international situation, inwards to unswervingly carry out internal reforms,emergencies can be described as endless and it is really an extremely urgent task for the media of our country charged with the social service function of reform and opening up to do a good job in reporting incidents.This paper, using content analysis with the necessary quantitative research, examined the content and form of "9·11" incident reports on "The New York Times", analyzed reporting techniques and its report tone, and from the ideological, cultural background and the concept of media, analyzed the reporting strategy,reporting methods and successful experience of "New York Times". Finally, some suggestions were given to improve the level of incidents reporting of our country.
