As the main work of the house property administrative departments, the house property information management has a variety of characteristics, such as the wide range business, complex management, heavy workload, and multiple kinds of data. With the rapid development of the house property industry, existing management solutions cannot meet the requirement of the development of the house property industry and thus has become its main bottleneck. On the contrary, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have powerful capabilities of graphics display and spatial data analysis. Therefore, it is of good research value and application prospect to apply GIS to house property management information systems. This thesis first analyses some key issues in both the previous researches and the house property management applications. We then employ the GIS technology as well as the software engineering idea to design and implement a house property GIS management information system which integrates both the Client/Server(C/S) and Browse/Server(B/S) architectures. The main results are as follows:1. Based on the analysis of the requirement of the house property management GIS system, perform the high level design, the function modules design and the database design.2. With the ArcEngine GIS components and the Visual Studio .Net integrated development environment, develop a C/S based house property subsystem, which supports the GIS map browsing, layer control, data view and editing, query and allocation, and house property map making.3. Taking ArcIMS as the WebGIS middleware, develop another B/S based house property WebGIS subsystem to publish the digital map, which has a basic page framework and functions of map browsing, querying and allocation.4. Evaluate the system performance using a tool named as LoadRunner to verify whether the proposed GIS based house property management information system can meet the performance requirement of concurrent users. In summary, this thesis introduces a solution to GIS based house property management information systems and preliminary achieves the graphical management of house property data.
