In this thesis, project design of improvement the power efficiency on WCDMA mobile platform is described.Firstly, the WCDMA power efficiency is presented. Then, the specification of WCDMA is introduced, after then the factors, which will affect the current, consume is presented, include the HW, SW and base station. The current solution based on these factors is introduced.Based on the above, the theory of the dynamic Vcc for PA power supplier is analyzed; the demonstrability is based on the probability of WCDMA PA output and the PAE calculation. Then we got the solution of using DC/DC convert to supply the dynamic Vcc for PA to improve the power efficiency, project design is include the DC/DC convert select, the PCB layout modify, the SW program and the automatically verify/testing program.Later all the relative testing is done and the result show the success of the project design, the current consume is improved by around 50mA while the phone is in talking mode which should be 17% improved. The Key testing dates are also listed in this thesis.
