Research Of Decision-making Knowledge Service In Public Library

In the era of knowledge economy, knowledge becomes the new economic growth point. How to use knowledge to serve mankind for the benefit of the public is one of the most experts' and scholars' present research focuses. It is also a major challenge which public library faced. The emergence of knowledge service, particularly the service for the decision-making can make the public library change the traditional functions, develop special advantages, adapt to social needs and gain a firm foothold in the fierce competitions. Traditional decision-making service which public libraries did, had behindhand service means, single method of service, rough service products and other problems. Therefore, to adapt to the development, public libraries must strengthen the research of decision-making knowledge service, and create a Characteristic knowledge service road of decision-making.This article is based on the theories of knowledge service and the relationship between public library and decision-making.It surveys the situation of decision-making knowledge service which public library carried out, tries to build a new compositive platform of decision-making knowledge service which used by public library and points out the countermeasure to achievement decision-making knowledge service.First of all, the article reviews the related theories, combing the definition of knowledge service and knowledge service of public library. It points out the characteristics, process of knowledge service and the contact and difference between traditional information service and knowledge service.Secondly, bases on theory research, not only analysis the necessity and feasibility of public libraries' decision-making knowledge service, but also the user's information needs for decision-making.Thirdly, through surveying the status of public libraries' decision-making knowledge service, it sums up the main models of public libraries' knowledge service and analysis the problems of decision-making knowledge service. Finally, throughout the analysis and summary of the problem, this article builds a public libraries' knowledge service platform for decision-making, and analysis of the basic elements and the technology. Then it advances corresponding countermeasures for public libraries' decision-making knowledge service.
