This paper includes three parts, which cover two research projects that I have involved in when pursuing for the master degree in Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, as well as one project which is accomplished during the period of pursuing a master double degree in TELECOM Paristech, France. The first part is the research on MIMO pre-coding technology in LTE-Advanced system, which results from the cooperating project between Broadband Communication Network Lab and ZTE Corporation. The pre-coding technology is one of the critical elements in MIMO system, which enables a remarkable improvement of system performance according to the estimated channel state. This paper presents the linear pre-coding technology in LTE and LTE-Advanced system, analyses the codebook design in LTE system, summarizes the key design principals, and proposes a new algorithm which is applied to 8-antenna scenario in LTE-Advanced system. The second part refers to the hardware design of the AGPS-GSM combined positioning terminal, which derives from the cooperating project with Gpsign Corporation. The combined positioning system is composed by the server, the terminal and the reference station. The main functions of the terminal are to send positioning requests to the server, to communicate with the server, to capture the satellite data and to calculate its own position according to different algorithms. This terminal can be divided into Battery Management Module, Central Control Module, GSM/GPS Module and Interface Module. The third part includes the requirements analyses of the entrance control system of ORSAY Museum, which is from a practical project during the study in TELECOM Paristech in France. The main purpose of this project is to analyze the requirements of the entrance control system of ORSAY Museum with different tools, to manage the visits to different zones in this museum. This part includes two missions:analyze the system requirements with software Objectiver, including the system goal analysis and user management; based on the requirement analysis, accomplish the object oriented design with UML, to satisfy the expectations and exigencies generated from the process of requirement analysis.
