Research On AGPS Position System Based On Mobile Network Construction

While reconstructing of telecom operators and releasing of 3G license, Chinese telecom industry has entered the whole business operation times. For operators, the greatest change from 3G happens in wireless data business which decides whether 3G operating will succeed or not. Mobile Position Service is an important development field in 3G wireless data business, which creates great many business chances for manufacturing organization and individual business entertainment.Our Position Service market is still on primary step, so all aspects in the whole industry are not perfect. In the position technology, on one hand, mobile operators mostly apply a method based on network, that is, Cell_ID position technology which is usually used. And though it is no need to change mobile network and client terminal and is propitious to popularize position business, its precision is too rough. On the other hand, another method based on terminal—GPS is more and more well known as a result of increase of private cars.But high precise GPS is blind in tall buildings area and it can not provide interaction services, either. If the mobile network SMS/GPRS is integrated into GPS so as to inter-compensate between them, it will meet new problems on terminal development, operation capability, power consumption and installation. Two types of position technologies have their own advantages and limitation. However, AGPS is a new one that is much appealing. For it can not only keep the high precision of GPS, but also reduce the difficulty of position terminal accomplishment and terminal power consumption, overleap installation of terminal equipment and compensate GPS blind area at the same time.In view of this, based on full comprehension on mobile network construction, research in this paper is developed from AGPS position system construction. It clarifies business process, analyzes system links, and calculates AGPS model devices. In the end, a physical sketch of AGPS local area network and team network is presented, and recent network is upgraded. The position system of West Lake area, as the first AGPS application program, has been working well since it started.Based on Cell_ID position, the development of AGPS and accomplishment of blending position not only keep the popularization of GSM terminal position and advance the precision of Cell_ID, but make up for the failure of GPS position when sheltering from tall buildings and also reduce terminal requirement. It will certainly open a new page for the position industry. There is a view and some new understanding to the development of wireless data business in 3G times in the end of this paper.
