A Research On The Application Of Agricultural University Libraries Into The Agricultural Knowledge Service

With the development of agriculture and the farmers'growing desire for agricultural knowledge, the corresponding service is also moving towards the direction of sharing, digitization, intelligentization and individuation, etc., based on the Internet and agricultural information service. Therefore, the libraries of the agricultural universities, being the centre of the agricultural knowledge resource, provide a platform for agricultural knowledge service.Based on an illustration of agricultural university libraries'application into the agricultural knowledge service, the author of this paper tries to conduct the analysis and research from the following respects:1) The paper analyzes the research results in related fields both at home and abroad, conducting a theoretic study on the its connotation, necessity and gradation through the methods of the Literature survey and analysis, online survey, and E-mail inquiries with the famers'demand as a starting point.2) Combined with the theoretic research, the author further defines what contents should be covered under the concept of agricultural knowledge service, building a service model and system which can be practically carried out on the platform of university libraries. Moreover, to illustrate this application, the function of the library of Hunan Agricultural University played in the "Double Hundred Science and Technology Project" are showed as an example.3) Then the final research concludes that the application of agricultural university libraries in agricultural knowledge service will greatly advance the development of modernized agriculture. And at the same time, agricultural knowledge service may also prove to be a new growing point of the library in a society of knowledge economy.
