The purpose of Network Performance Improvement(NPI) is to enhance or retain the performance of network which is the result of many interactive factors. The task of NPI is analyzing mainly the problems discovered in network, bring forward improving plan, organizing and putting in practice and then monitoring, comparing, analyzing again.By doing these the performance of network can be improved step by step. The article introduces CDMA network architecture of China Unicom briefly, describes the measures of NPI, which is expounded and practised in the actual performance. At first, it analyzes the key performance index of the exchanger, and introduces the contents reflected by different performance and the influencing factors. Then, by combining with tracing methods offered by the exchanger, using signaling tracing messages, it expounds the causes of main target's change and enhance method. The whole process makes investigation aim at the three topics as follows:Connected Rate of Switch system, Connected Rate of Voice system, analysis and improvement of Paging Success Rate. In Global System for mobile conunication, Switch Network Performance Improvement (SNPI), which regards Mobile Services Switching Center (MSC) as its kernel, is very important in the whole NPI. The performance of the switch network can be improved via the common measures of SNPI permanently continually and efficiency. Finally, the problems which affect the feeling of subscriber, such as Long Time To Access, Crosstalk, Notice of Record, are analyzed and presented the solution. By processing the special problems,we can eliminate the network's hidden trouble, and provide high grade, more efficient and satisfying service for subscriber.
