The purpose of Network Performance Improvement (NPI) is to enhance or retain the performance of network which is the result of many interactional factors. Usually we evaluate a network from three aspects as follows: subscriber complaining, traffic measurement results and Test results (including Drive Test and Cell Quality Test). The task of NPI is analyzing mainly the problems discovered in these aspects, bring forward improving plan, organizing and putting in practice and then monitoring, comparing, analyzing again. By doing these the performance of network can be improved step by step.In Global System for Mobile communication (GSM), Switch Network Performance Improvement (SNPI), which regard Mobile Services Switching Center (MSC) as its kernel, is very important in the whole NPI. The performance of the switch network can be improved via the common measures of SNPI permanently continually and efficiency. On this foundation, the network's latent trouble can be eliminated; more advanced high grade efficient can be provided and service for subscriber also can be satisfied by optimization of special problem.First the article analyzes the Key Performance Indicators in the exchanger, introducing their contents reflected by different target and their influenced factor. End of Selection Code (EOS) includes almost all unsuccessful cases. Chapter 3 begins with EOS, takes apart embedded for fluctuant of every target, by combining with tracing method which offered by AXE, using signaling tracing message, expounds the causes of main target's change and enhance method. The whole process makes investigation aim at these topics as follows: analyze the Toll Call completion Rate (TCR), authentication function optimization, improvement of called subscriber's bell time. Chapter 4 emphasizes particularly on cooperating with other nodes, discusses failure handover of exchanges, analyzes and resolves the problems such as cooperation echo and intercross among different company's equipments.
