Construction Of CDMA Packet Switching Network In Sichuan Unicom And Applications Of Its New Services

The competition of mobile communication market is very bitter. China Unicom is the first and the only telecommunication company that provides CDMA network services. In order to attract more users, China Unicom tries its best to construct a wider CDMA network and harness the technical advance of CDMA network to supply more valueadded data services.The author of the paper, is in charge of the design, construction, maintenance, etc. of CDMA 1X network of Sichuan Unicom. So the paper is also a conclusion of the construction of CDMA 1X network and the development of valueadded data services.Based on related CDMA network design, construction discipline of China Unicom and requirement analysis of Sichuan Unicom' development, the paper analyses and designs the packet switching network project, the No 2 construction project of Sichuan Union. After reviewed by specialist panel, the project has been carried out in cities of Sichuan Province. The paper analyses the possibilities of realization of valueadded data services which users may need or like on CDMA 1X network platform. The design and construction project to realize these services is presented in the paper. The market requirement analysis and technical project of these valueadded data services, such as W-LAN, MMS, mobile location, etc. are also presented. The valueadded data services realized have produced some good economic and social utility.
