With the full implementation of the new curriculum reform in Zhejiang province since 2006, Foreign Novel Appreciation has been added as a new elective module to senior middle school students. The purpose of adding this module is to help students preliminarily understand the outline of the history of foreign novels,and learn some writing methods of foreign novels and know some famous writers so as to enhance students' ability to appreciate and cultivate high-style aesthetic taste.This paper is aimed at the issue which is less involved till now, that is, which contents can be taught in class about Foreign Novel Appreciation. The paper isbased on some principles of organizing textbooks, namely, science, process, openness, development, subjectivity, humanistic. And the paper also analyzed the five factors of teaching Foreign Novel Appreciation, namely, the framework of teaching Foreign Novel Appreciation., the objectives of module teaching, the features of foreign fiction text, the learning conditions of students and the knowledge and teaching ability of teachers to debate the issue and find out some strategies.The strategies the paper recommended as follows:1. According to the organization of the textbook, try to help students understand the different contents better by talking about the same topic,2. Comparing. By comparing with different topics and having an extensive reading, deepen students understanding.3. Shallow to deep. According to the features of foreign novels, the author proposes the strategy to lead the thinking, from shallow and deep interpretation of the text.4. Practical. According to the actual needs ,the level, the real emotion and life experience of students, select the content of classroom teaching;5. Teaching more, then learning more .For teachers, the author thought teachers can learn more and teach better while assessing his/her teaching...
