| Lumber Disc Hemiation(short for LDH), also called Annulus f ibrosus rupture lumbar disease, is similar with backache in Chinese traditional medicine. Based on Disc degenerative diseases, it is caused by outer forces onto the annulus fibrosus of lumbar, which induces rupture of fibrous annulus of lumbar spine, herniation of the nucleus pulposus and Oppressive nerve root or spinal cord. It is mainly featured by douleur spontan e e and Allergies or QianChe pain, especially at night. Patients who have a long history of LDH are probably suffered from numbness muscle, atrophy muscle weakness, oppression horsetail nerve, or even gatism. The pain usually spreads from hip to ham, crus of posterolateral and foot dorsolateral portion, and becomes worse because of cough, sneeze etc. Therefore patients are not able to live a healthy life. Nowadays, there are two therapies to deal with LDH---one is surgical therapy, and the other is non-operative therapy. Generally speaking, these two therapies both bear pros and cons. However, Acupuncture Therapy as the first choice of non-operative therapy, is playing an important role increasingly. Objective:To observe the clinical effects of Acupuncture accompanied by Mckenzie therapy on LHD; to analyze it with the traditional acupuncture; to research the advantages, feasibility and the clinical research significance of Acupuncture accompanied by Mckenzie therapy on LHD; to work out the best treatment for LHD patients.Methods:60 cases of LDH patients from Wuhan Chinese Medicine Hospital and Wuhan Central Hospital between 2009 and 2010, are divided into two groups at random, one group receives Acupuncture accompanied by Mckenzie therapy (short for treatment group group), and the second gets acupuncture alone (also called control group). The compare group are treated like this:they lie Side or prone, then dispense 75% alcohol onto the eight acupoints (yaojiaji, shenyu, dachangyu, huantiao, zhibian, weizhong and chengshan). Operation:After routine disinfection, the choice of the medical instrument factory in Suzhou Hua produced acupuncture needles, acupuncture was connected to the G-6805 after gas electric acupuncture apparatus, using a continuous wave, intensity of patients can tolerate the degree of the needle for 30 minutes, every 10min during the line needle time, reinforcing-reducing method; acupuncture treatment group (acupoints and method of operation with the control group) to Mckenzie after treatment. These two treatments are 7 times as a course of treatment immediately observed after two courses of treatment. Respectively, before treatment and after treatment using a visual analog scale[1] (VAS, visual analog seale) and the Japanese Orthopaedic Association assessment of treatment[2] (JOA, Japanese Orthopaedic Association Scores) for scores to evaluate. Results:The total effective rate was 93.3% in the control group was 86.7%, the difference was statistically significant (P< 0.05), that the treatment group was better than acupuncture alone. Visual analogue scale VAS, straight leg raising angle and assessment of treatment JOA Japanese Orthopaedic Association scores:before treatment VAS, straight leg raising angle and JOA were no significant differences between points, comparable. VAS score after treatment:the treatment group than control group, the difference was significant (P< 0.05); straight leg raising angle:the treatment group than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P< 0.05), after treatment JOA Rating: treatment group than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture treatment with Mckenzie lumbar disc herniation compared with simple acupuncture treatment:The total effective rate in treatment group, VAS score, straight leg raising angle and JOA scores were better than the control group, indicating that combination therapy for lumbar disc better than simple acupuncture treatment of disease can be considered in the treatment of LDH process, Mckenzie therapy and acupuncture therapy in the treatment process produces a synergistic effect, as its exact mechanism and pathway to be further study of modern medicine. |
