Investigation On Association Of Hui And Han Ethnic Vitiligo Patients In Ningxia With Human Leucocyte Antigen-DRB1 Alleles

Objective To investigate association of human leucocyte antigen-DRB1 alleles with Hui and Han ethnic vitiligo patients in NingXia and significant differences of allele frequencies in HLA-DRB1 gene between Hui and Han ethnic people.To provide the reliable laboratory basis for the revelation of vitiligo pathogenesis and the heredity characteristic.Methods The HLA-DRB1 alleles were detected by polymerase chain reaction-sequence specific primers (PCR-SSP) method in 153 patients with vitiligo and 198 normal controls in NingXia. Statistical data is dealt with SPSSl3.0 statistics software and analyzed by theχ2 test. If P-value is less than 0.05, then the result can be considered meaningful.Results①There were no significant differences between Hui and Han ethnic people in the distribution of HLA-DRB1 gene.②The frequency of HLA-DRB1*09(9.2%)was significantly increased(RR=4.222,χ2= 9.787, Pc < 0. 05)in the Han ethnic patients with vitiligo compared with the Han controls(2.5%).③The frequency of HLA-DRB1*09(9.4%)was significantly increased(RR=4.308,χ2=9.390, Pc<0.05)in the Han ethnic patients with Generalized vitiligo compared with the Han control(s2.5%).④In the Hui ethnic patients with vitiligo the frequency of HLA-DRB1*16(10%) was markedly higher than that in Hui ethnic normal controls(1.3%)(RR=9.750,χ2=9.255, Pc<0.05).⑤In the Hui ethnic patients with Generalized vitiligo the frequency of HLA-DRB1*16(11.4%) was markedly higher than that in Hui ethnic normal controls(1.3%)(RR=11.556,χ2=10.274, Pc<0.05).⑥there was no significant differences in Han ethnic localized vitiligo patients and Han normal controls, or in Hui ethnic localized vitiligo patients and Hui normal controls.Conclusion HLA-DRB1*09 alleles may be the susceptibility genes or closely linked to the susceptibility gene in Han ethnic vitiligo patients, especially in Han ethnic Generalized vitiligo patients. However, In the Hui ethnic patients with vitiligo,especially in Hui ethnic Generalized vitiligo patients,HLA-DRB1*16 alleles may be the susceptibility genes or closely linked to the susceptibility gene.
