| As an important passive safety SRS device, automotive airbag has become the standard equipment of the vehicle gradually. Airbags can protect the occupants in the car, but there also happen misfire and abuse phenomenon for the complex using circumstances even it had been designed and tested strictly. The algorithm chosen is the key in the airbag development which determines the effects of occupant protection directly. So the airbag system must fire accurately and avoid misfiring too. The airbag will not protect instead of hurt the occupants if it doesn't deploy at the desired moment. This paper analyzes the causes of the airbag abusing accidents in the after sale automotive market, compares the airbag system requirements of different airbag suppliers of civil and foreign countries and studies the abuse test of the airbag.This paper researches the hardware and related theories of the airbag fire realized. It introduces the structure and work principle of the airbag system and summarizes the design keys of the airbag crash sensing system. It summarizes the general method of airbag system development and the contribution to avoid abusing in the package of crash sensors and algorithm design. It also analyses the robustness of the calibration of the algorithm by using existing data.Through an investigation of dozens of domestic airbag complaints, some typical cases and their causes are analyzed. The status of China's road traffic is investigated, then the road characteristics and typical working conditions are extracted, and the airbag abuse test procedure fitting Chinese road use condition is proposed. A series of abuse tests are performances and its test data is added to the crash pulse database including laboratory crash data.At the end of this paper, it analyses the failure model of ECU and verifies the improving actions of failure causes by using the FMEA method. Finally the significance of the DFMEA application to improve the robustness of airbag control system and avoid abusing is summarized. |
