As a component of the Occupant Supplemental Restraint System, the airbag has an important protective effect on the human body in the event of collision. The main task of this paper is to build a platform of airbag static test for improving the the structure of airbag. First we introduce the development of automobile safety regulations and passive vehicle safety research, the development status and trend of airbag.Preliminary introduce the problem of current airbag static test in the presence of high cost, long time and pollution, and present the design idea of test equipment by which reducing the above shortcomings.Expatiate on the main principle, work flow, mechanical devices and parameter design of airbag test system design. Involved in designing a set of test system, which gas source is compressed air, and the main device includes air compressor, pressure vessel, Chase Drive solenoid valve. By introducing the thermodynamic model, we calculate the key parameters of pressure vessel according to the formula & equations of quality and flux. We select the pressure sensor which is needed by the test according to the requirement of trial data acquisition system.In order to save the research time, we build a Finite Element Simulation Model by the data which's already been collected, by which replacing the actual test partly.The test results show that this test system can reduce the cost, save the test time and get no pollution issue comparing with the traditional test device. The test device can be used not only for airbag static tests, can also be used for the study of out-of-position passenger's injury after combining with the manikin model.
