Scorecard Applied Research In China's Enterprise Performance Management

In China, performance management systems based on financial indices are greatly valued and supported by many enterprises. But the information generated and the conclusions drawn from them couldn't provide enough support for the formation and implementation of strategy, and sometimes even brings negative effects, therefore limits the function of performance management systems to a great extent. Balanced scorecard is a new kind of performance management systems, which is popular in foreign businesses and achieves good results. So, making a thorough study on balanced scorecard is of great significance for both the rapid growth and enhancing the competitive power of Chinese enterprises. This paper intends to make a preliminary study on the formation and application of balanced scorecard, tries to introduce balanced scorecard to the performance management systems in China, and reforms it according to China's reality to ensure enterprises' decisions scientific and improve business effect. This paper can be divided into five parts:Part One is introduction, introducing the background of choosing this topic, studies conducted on this topic domestically and internationally, the main content and research methods; Part Two introduces the theoretic foundations of balanced scorecard and relative content; Part Three introduces the present situation of application and some problems of frequent occurrence; Part Four gives some measures and suggestions for improvement concerning with applying the balanced scorecard to Chineseenterprises; Part Five directly explains the formation and application of balanced scorecard in enterprises by illustrating a case of multinational corporation, combines theory with practice, and sums up this corporation's achievement in applying the balanced scorecard and its enlightenment.
