As an influential academic arena which was carrying forward the development of press, Mr. Huang Tianpeng had hatched out the first professional press journal with the idea called "academic for academic". Since 1927, the journal was born in harsh conditions, simple working environment and the shortage of talents, Mr. Huang has been an old man over 80. Currently, professional press journals have gained some results such as considerable periodicals with high-level and good-quality. But, living by the changes of society, it encounters development bottleneck now:lacking of publication funds, brain drain, and fuzzy position. Papers are hard to be published, academic standards were discarded, and evaluation became more and more ambiguous... Above aspects is long-term pain of professional journals and restrained the development of academic.Now, these difficulties that professional journals faced are intractable. Because of lack of publication funds, professional journals are confronted with the embarrassment. It just like a vicious food chain:brain drain dues to the low standard of the publication, and then it results in issued difficulties. That brings on financial difficulties again, and gives the birth of lower standards of the publication, because of that issue is more difficult. Faced this kind of situation, money become powerful and produce many evil consequences. Quality is decline and academic get false prosperity same as "Great Leap Forward."There are numbers of journals have done on this topic to discuss the outlet of journalism, attempting to help themselves. But problems have not been resolved properly, the majority of professional journals is doing last-ditch struggle. Professional journal of press, it should seek to obtain government's support, at the same time, look after supports from social groups and other foundation. We should study from Hong Kong, Taiwan and other overseas journals or magazines, but for those who hold up so hardly, perhaps out of the stage is the best choice so as to avoid going astray.For understanding the pain of press professional journals deeply and comprehensively, the author interviewed a number of people who work for press professional journals. In the next samples analysis, the author found that lack of funds and "money draft deal" is primary problem that many professional journals encountered, particularly the brain drain is more serious. As modern communication theories think that the competition between medium, on the surface, is the competition on market and audience. In fact, that is the competition for talent who supporting the development of medium. It has be the consensus of the whole press.This paper attempts to analyze dilemmas of professional journals'development, and we hope we are able to contribute our pygmy effort for finding solution to resolve problems we faced. We hope the press will pick up the initial value again, to encourage academic articles related with freedom, culture and responsibility. We hope professional periodicals be able to promulgate those creative thinking sincerely, and wish the reference points will be discovered by professional periodicals of press at bottleneck.
