China is a country which produces and consumes most coal in the word. Coal occupies about 75% in the disposal energy consuming of China. Because of the storage and geology factors, the collieries are threatened by natural disasters such as water, fire, gas, coal dust and roof sheet. During in all the disasters, the gas blast gives the highest harm and brings a huge tragedy to the country and corporations, which also induces unavoidable loss to the miners and their families. Study on the safety watching system in the coal mine is important for the founding of gas disasters in advance and the elimination of calamities timely.In this paper, the design and realization of safety monitoring system was finished combined with the facts of Beisu coal mine, which based on the analysis of safety watching technology development. The hardware, software and anti-jamming measures were optimized according to the operating principles of the system. The system was optimized, installed and debugged in Beisu coal mine. An omni bearing safety watching networks combined with individual protected inspection meter, gas itinerant inspection persons, and 24 hours fix monitoring was constructed. It changed the past passive complexion which could only depend on the human interrupted detection.Comparison of positive and negative cases shows that the correct application of the safety system can prevent and stop the fatal malignant disasters to ensure the miners safety. Academic and experimental basis to the extended applications of safety system are provided in this paper.
