China is rich in coal resources. It has become one of the major sources of grossdomestic product. However, due to the coal mining technology and people’s safetyconsciousness are not very high, coal safety accidents occur frequently. This had tocause us to ponder the source of the accident. When the thinking of "go down is tofight with the life" can completely eliminate; the work with peace is no longer aluxury.Mine safety is a timeless issue. However, traditional coal mine safetymonitoring mostly depends on a large number of workers’ complicated andhigh-intensity work day and night, the staff need to consume a lot of time and effort;the quality of work may not be very good. Complex work will not bring accuratepredictions in the long run, and people’s enthusiasm will slack off. It is easy to forma vicious cycle. Even arranging more people to monitor mine safety can’t avoid theproblem of information update timely, leading to adverse coal mine accidents.Therefore, many mines begin to seek suitable information management systems;improve work efficiency and the quality of work. In the past, mine management wasmainly focused on how to reduce the loss after the accident. With the improvementof safety awareness, and nowadays some mines focus on reducing or eveneliminating safety accidents from the bottom. Thus, the design of a coal mine safetymonitoring and management system has become the demand of the times, and it hasa strong practical value.The system is under the MyEclipse and MySql development environment,realize the storage of information, and facilitate the user’s queries. And it is dividedinto front and back operations. The front operating is primarily for users, backgroundfor system administrators. Foreground operation includes user log-in, user registration, video surveillance, data viewing, comprehensive news, friendship links,user messages and other operations; background operations is composed of userregistration information, video surveillance information, comprehensive news, usermessage and website maintenance information. Generally, news module is mainlyresponsible for some news coverage of the recent coal mine accidents and userbrowsing. Administrators can update the real-time news and add some recent coalmine accident information abroad. Video surveillance module mainly records safetyindicator information transformed from the mine below, including the humidity andgas density information. Such information all can be used to observe for mineworkers, and make sense that safety information under the mine. Administrator isalso responsible for auditing message submitted by users, and then based on thefeasibility message, they can decide to whether adopt or not. If the informationdoesn’t meet the actual situation, they have the rights to delete operation directly.Finally, we use the dynamic black-box testing methods to test the user loginmodule, video surveillance information module, the data module to view information,comprehensive news module and so on. As a whole, the system is in line with userneeds, and gets a better result.
