Nowadays, with the development of the Web2.0 based internet technology, both the professionals in the traditional media and the audiences who used to be the passive receiver of the information found that the mode of disseminating news is facing a new breakthrough. The circumscription lined between the news disseminator and receiver is fading. The audiences, who are used to be the mere information receiver, now start to spontaneously participate in the process of news production and news dissemination through the Internet, by applying their portable communication tools. This trend initiates a strong concern in the society and also arouses the discussion about citizen journalism in the journalism academia.Starting from the perspective of traditional Journalism and Communication Studies, the author approached the theoretical and practical combining research method to analyze Citizen Journalism's definition, origin, background and fundamental theoretics. By using the tag of "Citizen Journalist's Involvement " and "the main body of the Citizen Journalism based news site", the author studied several successful communication patterns of some representative Citizen Journalism websites abroad. Meanwhile, the author reviewed the transformation of the Citizen Journalism communication patterns along with the development of media technology in China, thus analyzed the different Citizen Journalism communication patterns and their application in current China. In the last part of this dissertation, the author studied Microlog's mechanism of communication, trying to figure out if it can become a platform for effective dissemination of news conducted by citizen journalists, just like the important role Twitter plays in citizen news reporting abroad.
