Baosteel 1800 Continuous Annealing Unit's production is wider than lots of other units, and it's steel specifications is multiple. Strip running deviation is a big problem of this unit. Sometimes, strip running deviation can lead to strip running deviation.The average downtime it caused is over 30 hours, which has bring great difficulties to the organization of production and economic loss.With the development of production specifications, the possibility strip running deviation increasing greatly. It is very necessary to collect Steel Strip running deviation data, then analysis it, and finally optimize continuous annealing model to reduce strip running deviation. The traditional strip running condition check is completed manually, which is inefficient and inconvenient for data query management. The document establishing is very cumbersome too. Therefore, we need a brand new way to monitor the system automatically. According to requirements analysis, the new system needs to run both strip running deviation monitoring and process control machine data monitoring in real time. The videos and synchronized process control machine data will be saved automatically. Operators will be warned when malfunction occurs. The saved videos and data curve can be represented synchronously. Data management should be easy and sample.This paper introduces the key technologies of the system design and implement. For Strip running deviation monitoring, it is mainly based on image recognition technology. This paper compares several different image edge detection methods, gives the final choice and explanation. The entire image processing process including Canny algorithm and Hough algorithm is introduced.Based on database requirement analysis, database production is selected and database is realized.At last, the paper describes the hardware architecture, software architecture and workflow. Real working effect is showed.This system is easy to use and works well. It provides operators an efficient and convenient way to monitor unit running. The data it collected is very helpful.
