This thesis describes the software system of distribution substation running management platform for Shanghai North City Power Supply Company. This system's objective is to lay down the foundation for the reliability and efficiency in the company's quality management activities, to solve the related problems to raise its management quality level.This thesis constructs this running management system's functional requirements, design, programming and tests from multiple viewpoints of applying the software engineering principles and methods. It specifically analyzes and determines the major development objectives centralized with the management demands. In the sequel it analyzes the functional contents from the aspects of main station running management functions, terminal equipment running management functions, electric power distribution station running diagram and model data management functions and inspection information management functions with emphasis on the related data processing requirements and gives use case models. In the aspects of software design it sets up the software architecture framework, determines the major component modules including their internal objects, data structures and processing flows by means of object-oriented techniques. In addition to these the database design scheme together with its internal data table structures are also presented. In the aspects of software implementation, the thesis present major programming examples, some running examples and the system test cases and methods.This software is programmed with C++ and SQL Server as its database subsystem. Through the initial application practice this electric power distribution substation running management system provides comparatively positive effects in the company's management practices which equals cost saving and reaches the expected objectives. Through the precise running inspection function it reduces the line loss rate and equivalently saves the operation cost and raises the annual efficiency. In consequences it reaches the expected development goals and provides the active enhancements for raising the power supply equality level.
