Xi'an Daily Xi'an Social Research (1953-1959)

On July 1,1953, Chinese Communist Party Xi'an Authority Newspaper-"Xi'an Daily" started publication, which opened a new chapter in the history of the newspaper cause in Xi'an district. The "Xi'an Daily"which was issued from 1953 to 1959 recorded different kinds of aspects of Xi'an city in the important historical period of the people's Republic of China,which gives us a ture reflection of social change in Xi'an in the 1950s. Various social strata in Xi'an have been mobilized to participate in the establishment of the socialist faith,Those who were critized and the participants all have experienced an ideological transformation.during the transformation of urban commercialization, the state of the industrial and commercial busiessmen was very complicated, Facing pressure and restrictions from the economic laws and regulations, party newspaper public opinion,and a rapid implementation of public-private partnerships was realized. Urban cultural forms, did not reflect the characteristics of something that was sperated from the tradition in the fifties of the 20th century. Traditional art forms coexist with the socialist literature and art forms.during the Educational activities in the community, young people's education has received a widespread community concern,and also a youth education project was opened up in "Xi'an Daily".Good deeds done in Xi'an and the emerging new image have also been fully published,thus becoming spiritual food which promoted the social construction. The "Xi'an Daily" also expose some bad aspects, reflecting the fairness and impartiality of party newspaper. However, public opinion was influenced by the political climate of that time in the course of the Great Leap Forward, "Journal of Xi'an" played a special role on the craze formation in fueling Xi'an Great Leap Forward. We can see a close relationship between "Xi'an Daily" and the Xi'an cities in this period.In the process of social change, the party paper not only played a positive role, but also produced some negative effects which can not be underestimated. Therefore, as for the role of party, the question of degree must be taken seriously.
