Research On The Change Of Discourse In The Column Of People's Daily "Today's Talk" (1980—2018)

With the deepening of reform and opening up,political,economic and cultural aspects of our country have undergone tremendous changes,and the journalism industry is also among them.Over the past 40 years,the concept,content and way of communication have been changed.Although this kind of change is a gradual process,we can clearly distinguish the stage of history looking at its trend."Today's Talk" is a comprehensive and mass commentary column that was founded during the period of reform and opening up to publish political short-term theories.It spreads the voice of the people and reaches the public opinion,and correctly guides the people's speech."Today's Talk" is the megaphone of the times and the record of history.Therefore,this article takes "Today's Talk" in the People's Daily as the research object,and selects 456 review articles from 1980 to 2018 through sampling method to analyze the discourse of the texts.At the same time,with the help of word frequency analysis software,the word frequency analysis method is used to systematically count the word frequency of the selected "Today's Talk" article samples.This thesis mainly draws on the discourse theories of Norman Fairclough and Teun A.Van Dijk and uses the method of critical discourse analysis to study the discourse changes of "Today's Talk".Through this unique academic perspective,the following research results are summarized: First,the law of discourse change in "Today's Talk" is discovered.The changing law of discourse theme is gradually flat: politics-economy-people's livelihood-social ethos;the trajectory of discourse style changes is: question type-firm type-realistic type-encouraging type,and its change law is gradually gentle.The second is to reveal the motivation of the change of discourse in "Today's Talk".It is found that the diversification of the work center of the Party Central Committee in different periods,the diversification of the audience's information needs in the context of social class differentiation,and the need for the reform of the newspaper itself in the process of media ecological evolution are all promoting its change.Third,the relationship between news discourse and social background is viewed from "Today's Talk".News discourse not only reflects social background,but also plays a certain role in shaping social background.
