As gradually increasing of the demand for oil and natural gas in our country, oil and gas pipelines have played a very important role in the national economy and promote people’s livelihood. Metal pipes can be slowly oxidized and corroded over time, and the use of cathodic protection can slow the speed of metal pipeline corrosion. Therefore, cathodic protection data for the management of the oil and gas pipelines and other metal pipe maintenance provides an important basis. At present, still mainly adopt the way of artificial field acquisition of cathodic protection for data acquisition, but more oil and gas pipelines laid in remote areas and span is very big, therefore, it causes long time cycle of data collection and lack of accurate synchronicity, at the same time consumes huge resources. In recent years, with the rapid development of wireless sensor network technology, the coverage of monitoring network has been greatly extended, it offers a new way to solve above problem. Using wireless sensor network technology in the pipe cathodic protection potential data acquisition system can realize automatic potential data acquisition and processing and provide effective guarantee for pipeline safety. This paper based on above background, designs a suitable wireless communication protocol for the cathodic protection potential data acquisition system, and by studying the frequency hopping mechanism in the SimpliciTI protocol, designs adaptive frequency hopping algorithm which is suitable for linear network topology structure, further improves the reliability of the network.Based on the background of pipeline cathodic protection data acquisition system, reading a large number of domestic and foreign research literature, analyzing the wireless sensor network technology and the research status of adaptive frequency hopping technology, analysis of the existing research results and the characteristics of cathodic protection data acquisition system, writer raises the research object of this paper.Through further research of wireless sensor network technology, frequency hopping technology and adaptive frequency hopping technology, combining with the research background of this subject and its application scenario of this paper, writer defines the linear topological structure of network and establish design scheme which is on the development of foundation of TI company production of RF transceiver chip CC1110and SimpliciTI protocol, discusses the advantages and disadvantages of SimpliciTI technology and frequency hopping blindness problem, defines the emphasis and the main direction of design.In this paper, improves the integral design of the protocol structure, and detailed describes the function of each layer of the agreement by different layer, especially on the data structure and interface function of each layer, the flow chart and the implementation code of the key functions are also detailed described. Designs adaptive frequency hopping algorithm which is suitable for linear wireless sensor network, this algorithm fully combines the features of adaptive frequency modulation technique and the characteristics of linear wireless sensor network, implements the network independent decision on whether to frequency hopping, when deciding on frequency hopping, overcomes the problem of frequency hopping blindness by real-time calculation on RSSI values of all the logical channel in channel list and perform hopping on the basis of channel selection of the optimal communication quality, then analyzes the effect of adaptive frequency hopping algorithm to enhancement of the system reliability.Ending of this paper, introduces the graphical programming language LabVIEW and the producer consumer model and state machines. Using LabVIEW development language, writer designed and implemented software tool for testing the linear wireless sensor network protocol, and tested protocol implementation scheme.
