In our country the coal mine accidents happened continuously, due to the coal production process is mainly in the underground and bad work environment. Mine environmental monitoring is usually required to check the temperature, humidity, dust, wall pressure capacity and various gas concentration parameters. The existing monitoring system has to set up cable communication lines in the coal mine to transfer the information to the ground .However, with the production process carrying on, the structure of the coal mine will be changed, the tunnel space may become narrower. As a result, the extension and maintenance of the communications lines will become complicated, moreover, if the lines break down, the entire monitoring system may be paralyzed. Therefore, the analysis and design of wireless communication network system for the mine environmental monitoring system will greatly help prevent coal mine accidents.According to the analysis on current situation of the research both at home and abroad, based on the basic theory of wireless sensor network, the coal mine safety monitoring system based on wireless sensor network is raised. In order to adapt to the underground coal mine working environment, based on the existing wireless sensor network nodes, the CC1110 chip is designed for the use of radio frequency communication module of the wireless sensor network nodes. By means of the actual needs of the environment, node hardware has some software modules such as sensors, data acquisition, data processing and data transceiver and so on. An energy-based and multi-path routing protocol applied to underground mine is analyzed and designed for complicated environment in mine. The routing protocol is proposed based on the condition of energy efficiency. Through routing protocol simulation testing, we found that the routing protocol in the establishment, maintenance and data transmission and so on is with good performance, simulation result shows that the routing protocol is an energy efficient routing protocol which can extend the network life cycle. In terms of reliability, through multi-path routing protocol to ensure its reliability .At last, through the experiment, we test the function of the coal mine safety monitoring system .The result shows that the coal mine safety monitoring system can help predict the occurrence of the accident and with better protection for the coal mine safety production.
