Sintering is the key processes in horniness alloy production, in which the temperature control is the key factor to guarantee the product quality. In recent years the domestic market demands for sintering equipment is growing, however, due to foreign companies concealing the key technologies of horniness alloy production equipment and its high price, Chinese cemented carbide industry has not made great progress. Advanced control methods are applied to study temperature control problem under the condition of complex industrial process and reasonable control algorithm is put forward. It is of great significance to improve product quality and to save energy.Since the equipment and the process have properties, such as high nonlinearity, time-varying, uncertainty, and large time-delay, it's difficult to model the process precisely, so that it is hard to use traditional techniques to solve temperature control problem within cemented carbide sintering furnace.The thesis analyzes the control strategy currently used, in order to find out the shortages about traditional PID control. Considering the bad performance of the sintering process brought by fixed PID parameters, a fuzzy control method is developed to enhance PID control, in which fuzzy inference is used to modify PID control parameters. Based on the requirements of sintering furnace and control performance, some key issues, such as framework of fuzzy PID control, the methods of adjustment of the fuzzy rules and the parameters, are presented in the thesis to provide the complete temperature control of sintering furnace. Finally, the programs of PLC and IPC are developed to realize the industrial implements. The comparison results between traditional PID and fuzzy PID show that, fuzzy PID performs much better than traditional PID, so that the temperature control developed in the thesis is feasible.
