Based on the practical project of millimeter-wave monitoring system for shooting range, the self-test and fault diagnosis of the branch station in the millimeter-wave test system according to the requirements put forward by the fault location is discussed in this paper. The target signal is acquired and processed by the branch station of the millimeter-wave test system, and at the time the branch station is controlled by the main station. The self-test of the branch station of the millimeter-wave test system by means of the self-test controlling method, which is based on remote monitoring through VC and wireless communication module, is completed in this paper. When there are some faults exist after the self-test of the branch station, the fault diagnosis of the receiver of the branch station is finished in this paper. The module detection is fulfilled through the analysis of the structure and parameter of the receiver system, combing with the theory of fuzzy diagnosis. And at the same time, the computer simulation is carried out to simulate some circuit faults to build up a fuzzy fault dictionary. As to the intelligent fault diagnosis of the millimeter-test system, some theory analysis is given in this paper. In addition, the principle design of the intelligent fault diagnosis has been proposed by means of establishing knowledge base and inference engine design.Ultimately, both the test of main parameters for receiver system diagnosis and the hardware have been completed.
