There is a broad of Valves in all sectors in the national economy. With the development of our nation's production, national defense, and the improvement of peple's life, more and more valves are needed. At the same time, higher and higher requirements of products incoluding the quality of products, updates, and products from design to market are demanded. However, the valve's design and manufacturing industry are lagging behind the market. Many parts of the design using two-dimensional CAD software can not form a digital information management, and can not meet the requirements of modern industrial production. To solve conflicts, the paper made the following aspects:1. The expression ideas based on features and the design based on all kinds of standard parts library design dimensions are achieved by analysing the valves'functions and characterstics, and distinguishing different kinds and setting parameters according to the characteristics of ball valves.2. The complete, accurate and unambiguous description and the input of standard pieces'design information are achieved by researching the interactive information input method of standard parts and the corresponding interface design methods.3. Research on secondary development about SolidWorks including the secondary development of the principles, methods, tools and other aspects of the core technology is carried out. Then the system'design philosophy is formulated by analyzing the Three-dimensional solid modeling technology and establishing the parametic design technology based on features.4. A parameterized three-dimensional modeling using the SolidWorks parametric feature modeling which provides functionality developed on the COM component of standard valves and standard enterprises'parts is established. In-depth analysis of ball valve design based on the theory, an integrated CAD systerm including system design, parameter parametric analysis is builded up by using modular design techniques, parametric feature modeling technology, database technology and the development of corresponding software interface program which make the system platforms and support software combine organic, and using interactive features Solidworks Secondary development interface to drive the geometry and topology required information.This paper is supported by Windows XP operating system platform.According to the principles of software engineering, it uses Visual Basic as a secondary development tools, Access as database implementation tools, and SolidWorks as three-dimensional modeling platform. The valve part of the parametric modeling is achieved by makig full use of powerful drive and SolidWorks Modeling, which associates parametric design of the valve with the three-dimensional modeling. A standard parts library achieving the standardlization and intelligent of design and 3d modeling is established. A standard according the need of design parts library achieving the standardlization and intelligent of design and 3D modeling is established. And it has great importance to increase the level of products'standardization and regulation, improve the design of the valve industry standards, promote scientific and technological progress of enterprises.
