Phase shifter is one of the most key components of phased-array rada.it's performance has an important impact on phased-array radar system.This thesis is mainly on research and design of a high power and broad band digital phase shifter.To begin with,the meaning and status of the topic as well as task of this thesis were introduced in the first chapter.In the second chapter,firstly,based on the importance of microwave transmission line in microwave integrated circuits,microwave transmission line was studied, especially the characteristic and basic theory of microstip transmission line were studied in detail,some formulas such as characteristic impedance,phase velocity,transmission line impedance equation,frequency upper limit,etc,were given.Subsequently the author studied microwave network,quantitative definitions and formulas of two-port-network parameter were given.Finally two-port-network operational parameters were introduced.In the third chapter,the main purpose is to do study these basic theories of digital phase shifter which include digital phase shifter's category,primary technic performance feature of digital phase shifter,working theory of PIN diode and working principle of common PIN diode digital phase shifter.This chapter laies emphasis on working principle of common PIN diode digital phase shifter which includes switched-line-type,loaded-line-type,reflection-type and switched-network-type.The fourth chapter is about design of high power and broad band digital phase shifter,which is also the thesis's emphasis.According to design specification of high power and broad band digital phase shifter,the total scheme was brought forward. Then in the light of total scheme,PIN chip was determined,the circuit design and simulate together with how to realize product.were presented.The fifth chapter is about fabrication,debugging and testing of the product.The actual testing result shows:in the frequency range from 0.8GHz to 1.5GHz and sixty four phase shift states,insertion attenuation is not more than 3.4dB,input and output VSWR is not more than 1.46,phase shift accuracy is better than±2°at the midfrequency point,phase shift RMS error is less than 6.3°,the ripple of insertion attenuation is is better than±0.68dB,all of performance meet design requirement.In the last chapter all work was concluded and the following task was brought forward.
