Phased array antenna technology has been widely used in a variety of platformsand radar, electronic warfare, communication systems and IFF equipments. Among thephased array radar T/R(transimit or receive) module, phase shifter is a crucial deviceand is used to achieve the entire radar beam scanning in the air. The accuracy of thephase shift positioning and the beam main lobe and low side lobe rejection aredetermined by the phase shifting precision and speed indicators. Active phased arrayradar contains hundreds of identical T/R components that include thousands of phaseshifters. With the needs of practical application of engineering, the development ofminiaturization and high reliability about microwave phase shifter is needed.This paperillustrated the research process about the L-band phase shifter which has widelypractical applications.In view of the principle of phase shifters, this paper analyzed the switching line,load line,3dB bridge-type, high and low pass filter type and other various structuralphase shifter’s circuit features. And the switching line and load line structure are chosento design the structure of the phase shifter we proposed. Then the design program andcrafts controling of the non-dispersive six bit digital phase shifter in L-band areinvestigated and the manufacturing process is illustrated detailly. Finally, the switchinglinear structure is used to design the phase shifting unit of small phase shift, and forphase shifting unit of large phase shift, the load line is adopted. By optimizion andsimulation, from1.3GHz to1.5GHz, in all combined state, the VSWR is less than1.3,the insertion loss is below1.9dB, the phase accuracy is under±2°. It can be seen thatall the technical characteristics are better than the design requirements, satisfied theengineering requirements.The paper maily complete following works:1. Review of the microwave phase shifter project background, development andresearch status internal and abroad.Poposed the technical indicators of non-dispersivesix bit digital phase shifter in L-band according the requirements of project.2. The detail analysis and demonstration about the crafts design we used.3. Simulated and optimizated the circuit according to the technical requirement ofthe non-dispersive six bit digital phase shifter in L-band, and the simulation resultsare coincide with the requirement. 4. Research for the phase shifter, simulation design, the debugging and designlayout.
