Because of its large communication capacity, long communication distance, wide coverage, performance, reliability, etc. From the appearance of Satellite communications, it receives widespread attention, in just a few decades, it has been rapidly developed, and play a significant role in the military, science and technology, environmental protection, meteorology and other fields, with the growing number of users of satellite communications and its expanding of application fields, people will put forward higher requirements about communication systems. Satellite communications is communication system with artificial earth satellite to forward information, so the performance of satellite communication system depends on the performance of the satellite, and more inseparable from the excellent performance of the communication system, the phase shift is widely used in communication systems, so it should be also given adequate attention.After we know more about satellite communication systems, started the research about digital phase shifter, think about the current situation and the development of digital satellite communications research phase shift of the status quo, I decide to research the 5-bits phase shift between the ban of 11.5GHz-12.5GHz, think about the characteristics and requirements of satellite communication, the phase shifter insertion loss should be 3dB or less, and the phase shifter phase shifting precision with in 3 degrees. After selecting the appropriate PIN tube after the simulation model of the device. Finally produced a kind, completed the test of kind, and analysis the test data and simulation data, find the phase shifter design problems encountered in the process and the various factors that influence on the analysis made. Finally, innovative vector network analyzer calibration technology and chip non-coaxial S parameter extraction technology to extract the parameters of the PIN diode emulation and complete test fixture design.
