Phase shifter is a key component of phased-array radar. Its performance has directeaffects to phased-array radar system. In this paper, we designed and made an X-bandanalog phase-shift module for one radar receiving system.According to the targets in radar system, there are one input and two output controls in ourmodule. One output is to achieve continuous electronic control 360°analog phase-shift,and the other is not only has the function of previous one, but can achieve 0/16dB one bitdigital attenuator by switch controlling. From the aspect of engineering, the designedanalog phase shifter is included one power splitter, two 360°analog phase shifters and0/16dB one bit digital attenuator.The emphasis of the paper is the design of 360°analog phase shifter. We analyze thenecessary conditions for linear-shift and the method of balancing insertion losstheoretically, which lead to a detailed solution for the above performances of phase shifterand theoretical evidence for choosing varactors of key components in the circuit.The bandwidth analog phase-shift module which made of microwave integratedcircuit techniques can gain a continuous 360°variable phase-shift; maximumphase-modulation voltage of 18V; linear deviation of central frequency less than 4±3.3%;one the maximum insertion loss (include the power splitter) 11.3dB.Band insertion lossfluctuation less than 2.2dB between the working bandwidth; one the maximum insertionloss without attenuation (include the power splitter) 12.2dB and insertion loss fluctuationless than 2.4dB between the working bandwidth and the maximum insertion loss (includethe power splitter) 28.1 dB if there is digital attenuation. These performance indexes arealmost accord with the design and the targets of the radar system.
