Scientific Research Management System Research And Development

Scientific research plays a significant role in higer schools. Therefore, Scientific and Technical Department has an important task conerning how to effectively manage research papers, projects and achievements in scientific research and how to scientifically assess the workload of teachers'scientific efforts.This paper illustrates in detail the developing background, requirement analysis, system design, detailed design and system implementation of a "Scientific Research Management System". Its main functions include:1. Design a special Workflow Engine based on a relevant database.2. User Management: Four types of User Managements are classified in this system. Superuser is to manage the entire system and assign user authority; Teacher User is to submit the published research paper and scientific research achievements through a client; Department Head User is to examine and approve departmental research projects submited by the teachers of corresponding depatments; Expert User is to evaluate and appraise the submited projects.3. Research Paper Management: Offering features of registration, classification, inquiry and statistics recording for teachers'research papers. 4. Research Achievement Management: Offering features of registration, classification, inquiry and statistics recording for teachers'scientific research achievements.5. Research Project Management: Offering features of project applicaitons, online evaluation, project establishment and superintending of scientific research project.6. Information Issue Management: Offering a timely release or mangement of notices and news.7. Expert Management: Experts'information is gathered, sorted out and issued to set up an expert database from which experts are choosen to evaluate and appraise the establishment of research projects in corresponding fields.After three years'master course study of sofware engineering, I have been equipped with basic qualities of software analysis, design and development. I have grasped the basic approach, use of common development tools and software designing procedures. Through designing Scientific Research Management System for higher schools, I apply theory to practice and lay a good foundation of further software designing.Passing a long time, the design of Scientific Research Management System has been mostly completed. After strict testing, the system is at its trial run phase.
