IPMAN as the basic infrastructure and the important vehicle of city informatization is getting more focused .The success key of city informatization is how to provide premium service by running the large-scale and most complex network efficiently, which is made up of many kinds of device. After going over the development history of IPMAN NMS, the thesis concludes the problems existing in the traditional NMS, then tries to find a new stage the integrated NMS should evolve. The thesis does research on its trends through exploring the all kinds of requirement which make the IPMAN integrated NMS go. At last the thesis builds the requirement model of IPMAN management .Knowing how the TMN theory is developed in IP network, making the telecom running its network more efficiently and satisfying the challenges when the IPMAN being the vehicle of all kinds of add-value services, drive us to design an extendable and reliable NMS architecture with perfect performance. After applied to the IPMAN NMS of Shanghai Telecom, the architecture proves us that it can satisfy the integrated real time monitoring requirement to watch the telecom' s large-scale IP network.
