Application Of Network Management Technology In IPMAN

With a lager network, it is difficult for an ISP to maintain its network. For a higher quality of IPMAN maintenance, with discussing and analysing network management protocol, a network performance monitor system is designed on the basis of Shanghai Telecom network management demand. Also it is depolyed in Shanghai Telecom IPMAN, and proved to be usable and particable.ICMP, SNMP and Netflow procotol is discussed, including theory and architecture analysing. After this, a network performance monitor system is realized under network management demand in Shanghai Telecom IPMAN.In network application monitoring, DNS, HTTP, FTP and mail application monitoring is realized. In network quality monitoring, purpose, architecture, and flow is discussed with a detailed design. In network flow monitoring, method and architecture is discussed using NetFlow protocol, also with a detailed design. In network equipment monitoring, architecture and flow is studied with a detailed design. In warning processing, flow is proposed, including reading data, obtaining baseline data, warning blocking and sending warnings. The system is now used in Shanghai Telecom IPMAN. With analysing its application, the system proved to be usable and practicable.The meaning of this researching is that it can be used in monitoring a carrier network for efficient management and offer a better service. It is also a reference for designing other network management systems.
