The Integration Of Media: Revolutionary Changes In The Media Field

Media convergence commences a venture from the imagination of media integration during intermediary developing process. However, with the development of digital technology, both the method of media content storage and media form have taken place. Moreover, the media integration has been far beyond initiation' s imagination and have started swift development course.This paper took the medium convergence as a breakthrough point, combing and analyzing certain medium convergence developing stages, discussing the medium convergence internal agent. The paper selected IPTVas the object of study, analyzed IPTV development ----as the mediumconvergence typical case ----from many angles, such as the operationpattern, the content pattern and the business model etc. The research of IPTV, as the form of the integration of Internet, traditional TV and other media forms, is an opportunity to study media ecosystems reconstruction, the formation of media society and the building of media society theory in the next wave of media integration, which are caused by media integration.The structure of this paper was divided into five parts: The first part is introduction, which expressed the background, motivation and purpose of the study, the purpose of research put forward the research topic, determined the research direction, and established the steps and structure, and the use of research methods. The second part was the literature review, covering the related concept of IPTV, the development process of media convergence, the media society theory, such as a number of core point view. The third part was an overview of the development of IPTV and case analysis. Part four try to find further evidence of IPTV development promoting the wave of media convergence through information analysis and verification, and looked for a number of affinity of IPTV and the media society theory. Immediately after the fourth part contents is part five, which discussed on the developing trend of media society in the next wave of media convergence.
