Since the beginning of the twentieth century, development of the newspaper has been challenged by various factors, for example the newly arisen medium. Party newspapers also have suffered challenges and pressure, especially in the recent years. A series of important changes have been taken place in Chinese society, including transformation of economic structure, change of social structure, adjustment of beneficial structure, as well as the changes of mind and thinking. Our society is in a transformation period, how to choose party newspaper's content and how to position its function, have been requested new demands.Based on research and analysis on exposure habits, reading condition, impression and evaluation, requests and satisfaction, public's trust of audience who read party newspapers, based on data from Research of multiple audience of media in Zhejiang and Research of monthly evaluation from readers of Zhejiang Daily, also based on case study of transformation of such party newspaper as Zhejiang Daily, the paper discusses in the transformation period, how the party newspaper can fit the development and trend of the society, how the party newspaper can more satisfy the diverse need from audiences, in order to offer party newspaper reform with rational reference and strategic solutions.
