Song Sun Of The Anthology

Sun Qiao,one of the ten famous authors in Tang and Song dynasty,and he was one of the prominent literator in the latest Tang dynasty.He succeeded Han Yu,and was appreciated to be the finality of the ancient prose movement.He collected his writings and composed them into a corpus called "Anthology of Sun Qiao",which has important information for studying of latest Tang dynasty's history and the ancient prose movement.For the social turbulence in the latest Tang dynasty,there has not been a detailed record of Sun Qiao in the history records.Therefore,we have nothing to compare with when studying Sun Qiao. The edition of "Anthology of Sun Qiao" is also very intricate.There are amount of editions,such as Song edition,Wang Ao edition of Ming dynasty,Wu Fei edition of Ming dynasty,Ji Gu Ge edition of Ming dynasty,and so on.But there isn't a systematical studying and combing of these editions and a precise judgment of the relations of these editions is also vacant.Being the finality of the ancient prose movement,Sun Qiao was criticized more than praised,and some critic even ascribed the degeneration of the ancient prose movement to those who succeeded from Han Yu,while Sun Qiao was the representative.Nevertheless,the reason why the ancient prose movement decayed is so complex that the commentary above is not fair.Consequently,there is the necessity to make a profoundly and objectively studying about the prose of Sun Qiao.Basing on the "Anthology of Sun Qiao" of song edition,this article research systematically on Su Qiao and his anthology.First,collecting and comparing the data which revealed from anthology,I formed more detailed information about Sun Qiao,and complemented the vacancy of the history record.Then,emendating the three representational edition of "Anthology of Sun Qiao"——Song edition,Wu Fei edition of Ming dynasty,Ji Gu Ge edition of Ming dynasty,I acquired a clear relation of these editions,and got a objective judgment about these editions' advantages and disadvantages.The ultimate conclusion is that the earliest and perfect edition is Song edition.The other editions all based on Wang Ao edition,generating from Song edition indirectly,but there are significant fault in these edition.Basing on the emendation and integrating the advantages and disadvantages of these editions,I corrected some mistakes in Song edition.I believe this will promote the value of the utility of "Anthology of Sun Qiao".Lastly,I summarized the feature of Su Qiao's prose from study of the thirty five articles in 'Anthology of Sun Qiao'.The character is succession and development of the ancient prose movement which created by Han Yu.On one hand,it succeed the ideology and theory of Han Yu,but the most important point is the initiative of Sun Qiao——the critical and ironical method,which was the initiation of the essay in the latest Tang dynasty.
