Zhang Ji, being Co ?called Zhang Wang Music Bureau with Wang Jian, was a famous Music Bureau poet of Tang Dynasty. He was eminent in literature history. However, Predecessors' comments are various and vague concerning about Zhang Ji' s Collection of Poetry and their spreading after Song Dynasty. So this paper is to study the edition source of Zhang Ji' 5 Anthology and discuss its topic and discriminate its errors by comparing over 20 kinds of editions of Song, Ming and Qing Dynasty through investigating the references including the division of Chapters, quantity of poetry, alteration of arranging order, preface of inscription, sign of preservation, discrimination of seal, resorting to works of bibliography, so as to ascertain the source of collections and their handing down relationships.The article is divided into 3 parts: introduction, body and conclusion. In addition, the author provides the readers with an appendix of source system graph of the past dynasty editions.In introduction, the author puts forward the reason of the topic and the topical contents.The body part is divided into 4 aspects, treating time as the guiding principle. The author, in this part, studies and examines Zhang Ji' 5 Poetry in detail:I . The Collecting and spreading of Zhang Ji's poems in Tang and the Five Dynasties. This Part Studies the collecting and spreading situation of Zhang Ji's poems in Tang and the Five Dynasties. The author points out that Zhang Ji did not systematically sort out his poetry into collection, and the first one to do the collecting job wasZhang Ji, who searched and sorted out the works of Zhang Ji within 20 years. Zhang Ji made a great contribution in preserving and arranging the works of Zhang Ji, and what Zhang Ji Compiled Zhang Ji' s Anthology was the first systematic collection concerning about the works of Zhang Ji.II . The edition and publication of the full collection of Zhang Ji's poems in Song Dynasty. In this part, basing on limited historical materials, the author made a thorough exploration and discussion of how people in Song Dynasty edited and published Zhang Ji's poems, thus exposing to the reader what the various published editions and transcribed copies look like and how they were handed down from generation to generation. Topics of discussion are the following: (1) Disclosing the mysterious veil of the few-mentioned seven-volume edition and pointing out that the seven-volume edition which were edited by the Northern Song Publishing Officials and which were mistaken to be lost were just hidden in the eight-volume edition compiled by Tang Zhong and neglected by his descendants. (2) The Shu block-printed edition is the earliest edition of the present day Zhang Ji' s Collection of Poems , but unfortunetely, it is an incomplete one now. And through a comparison between the Shu block-printed edition and Shu Peng published edition, a fact can be inferred that Shu Peng edition actually came from Shu block-print edition, thus restoring to the world-renown Shu edition of Song Dynasty its complete form. (3) Shu Peng edition was originated from Shu edition. (4) Ping Jiang edition was the eight-volume edition named Zhang Ji' s Anthology edited by Tang Zhong and published by Wei Jun at Ping Jiang in Southern Song Dynasty. The Li Yang and Xu Jiang editions as referred to by Tang Zhong are another two editions.IK . The publication and transcription of Zhang Ji's poems in Ming Dynasty. In this part, the author Systematically explores origin of the Various Ming editions of Zhang's poems. (1) Liu Chengde's edition in the tenth year of Zheng De was origi-nated from Shu Peng edition. (2) Jiang Xiao's edition named Collection of the Poems of Tujelve Poets in Mid-Tang Dynasty was a copy of Liu Cheng de' s one. (3) Lu Bi-an' s edition named The Tang poem of Twelve poets was based on Jiang Xiao's edition with some new-added volumes.
