Radar system simulation technology is widely used to become an important means of radar analysis, design, experiment and evaluation. Based on the research of X band Ground Based Radar(GBR) simulation system, this dissertation mainly discusses the design and application of its sub-systems: Return Generation(RG) and Signal Processing(SP).The main content and work in this dissertation can be summarized as follows:1. This dissertation introduces the principles and working mode of X band GBR simulation system, mainly analyzes the function of RG and SP sub-systems. A total design of RG and SP simulation sub-systems is presented according to the system requirements.2. An application of RG simulation sub-system is brought forward in this dissertation. In order to simulate the return, a radar coherent video echo model is used to simulate target echo, clutter and noise separately. Then the three parts which are in the same range cell are added together to form a matrix to represent return in one radar Coherent Processing Interval(CPI). This matrix is called a frame of range doppler data. To simulate return accurately, we set several models as follows: target Radar Cross Section(RCS) model, target antenna modulating model, target wave modulating model, noise model, clutter amplitude distributed model and power spectrum distributed model. Each of these models has been analyzed and simulated.3. An application of SP simulation sub-system is brought forward in this dissertation. To make the detection probability of X band GBR simulation system to meet requirements under complex environments, a reasonable design of SP sub-system is very important. Based on the research of radar SP technology and algorithm, this dissertation puts forward an application of SP simulation sub-system. To suppress the clutter, noise and detect target, we adopt several advanced SP methods such as pulse compression, MTI, MTD, CFAR, amplitude-comparison angle measurement and ambiguity resolution, of which we emphase the algorithms of CFAR and ambiguity resolution. Two CFAR algorithms, Cell-Averaging CFAR(CA-CFAR) and Ordered...
