Recently, more and more attention is given to the application of the phased array radar. A means to research and analyze the performance of phased array radar is to modeling and simulating it. Because the quantity of processing in modeling and simulating is very large because of it' s complexity, so how to accelerate the processing is one of the key issues to be resolved for the moment.The signal processing of phased array radar is discussed in this thesis, then how to migrate the program code to DSPs is analyzed. By comparing the two processing platform, the method of simulation of phased array radar system based on double platform is proposed on this paper, that is to say a new coprocessor dedicated in signal processing is designed to extend the PC platform and accomplish the simulation task together. This main job includes three parts:The first one is to analyze the arithmetic of signal processing in phased array radar. By comparing the characteristic of signal processing on the two platform, wo know that double platform for signal processing in simulation is needed.The second one is to research and analyze most hardware resource of the coprocessor and discuss their working principle.The third one is to discuss how to research and develop the arithmetic and software needed in the coprocessor based on the hardware resource of it and how to debug the software and give some experiment result.In the end, some problems have been put forward to be investigated deeply in future.
