In the last several decades or so, the technology of digital signal processing (DSP) have obtained very fast developing both on theory and practice. In spite of that DSP has the characteristics such as high reliability, flexibility and low cost, and it has substituted the traditional signal process manner, namely analog signal processing (ASP), the ASP and analog integrated circuits (IC) design weren't out of fashion, moreover, they are playing the unreplaceable role in some given situation. The nature world is analog, so we need analog-to-digital converters (ADC) in order to utilize the DSP, especially in the measurement. For different application, we can use different method to realize the ADC, pipeline best for video and wireless communications for high speed,Σ-△best for voice for best tone, and dual-slope for measurement for low cost and low power consumption. For low speed measurement application, the author analyzes and designs a dual-slope ADC circuit. The author firstly introduces the ADC's development tendency and basic knowledge related to ADC and dual-slope theory. Secondly, introducing the dual-slope ADC system simply, the author analyzes how the parameters of the subcircuits affect the ADC system's performance in detail, and design the entire circuits optimized in system point. Thirdly, the author discusses the analysis, design and simulation of the subcircuits of the ADC system. After taping out successfully, the author finishes the measurement of the ADC and the typical application design, and introduces the application notes. Finally the conclusion comes out.Althrough there are unavoidable disadvantages of this thesis, it is a worthwhile and valuable experience, especially for the study of ADC applied in the measurement.
