With the fast development of Very Large Scale Integrated circuites, hardware is often used in the quick and accurate trigonometric function calculation Coordinate Rotation Digital Computer(CORDIC) can disassemble complex operations which are hardly achieved by the hardware circuit directly into unitive plus-minus and shift operation, decreasing the complexity of the hardware design. On the base of theoretical and experimental analysis of traditional CORDIC, this thesis proposes series optimized measures. The theoretical analysis and experimental tests indicate that with the same precision, the optimized arithmetic can increase the operation speed and decrease the system occupying hardware resource. The main study production is: 1) through the analysis of revolving angle each time, the system resource consummation is reduced with the decrease of the volume of the table of Counter-tangent function and the production line's progression. 2)the system operation speed is increased with the decrease of the table of Counter-tangent function's accessing times when iterated.3) the operation of emendation factors is simplized.4)using the symmetry of trigonometric function, the scope of the input angle is extended to a intact circle.5) the thesis proposes the hardware design implement project on the platform of Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), which completes the whole system design with VHSIC Hardware Description Language (VHDL) and passes simulation and adaption. This paper detailedly discusses the whole system frame work and interior module design and mainly introduces the implement unit design to improve CORDIC algorithm, adding asynchronism serial interface in the system design, perfects the whole system modularization. realizes sine,cosine algorithm. The simulation results indicate that the algorithms improves computing speed and reduces the system hardware resources-occupied.
