The petroleum materials management (PMM) system is designed on the basis of the knowledge of modern logistics, the third-party logistics and environmental logistics, guided by the planning goal, design principles, guideline and technical requirement, and in combination with the existing status and characteristics of petroleum industry.The PMM system is a fully integrated system for managing all phases of material management process, it consists of following eleven modules: Planning, Pricing, Procurement, Contracts, Storage, Quality Assurance, Financing, Suppliers, Decision-making Support and System Management. Addition to the core function, PMM has also emphasis on security features; data security, network security, virus detecting and preventing is build within system.Oracle and Power Builder are used as development environment to flawlessly integrated Object Oriented Design, Workflow, Relational Database, Components, 4GL, Web Application, Bar Code into PMM.PMM system along with upgraded hardware greatly improves process of management of Tuha Oil field by reduce the operation cost and transaction time, increasing accuracy and efficiency. By using PMM, Tuha Oil field's material inventory management is a big step closer toward Intellectualized, Integration, Collaboration and Networkization. It has point out the future direction for modern oilfield PPM and will have big impact on entire oilfield logistic industry.The author is responsible for the development and application of materials management system of Tuha Oilfield Materials Supply Department. After in use for several years with continued update and improvement, PMM system was awarded Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region's Prize for the progress of Science Technology.
