RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology is a new technology of auto identification in recent years, which is the conbination of RF and identification technology. Wireless and bidirectional communication between RFID chip and reader is their communication mode and to identify the object and to swap data by radio frequency identifieation. The power of RFID chip circuit is supplied by the power of electromagnetic wave from reader. Compared with other auto identification technologies, the RFID technology has many advantages such as high speed , convenience, large storage capability, reliability, security and so on. So, to study and design the RFID chip has great practical value.The objective of this paper is to study and design the RFID chip on single chip working in13.56MHz. The paper adopts the technology of antenna on single chip which integrated antenna and other circuits on one chip. So the whole RFID chip can be a monolithic system. By this way, the cost of RFID chip is reduced and the performance is improved. After a deep analysis of the principle of antenna on single chip, its equivalent model is confirmed and then presents a design method. Based on the deep study of relate theories and technologies of RFID chip, the paper has finished the analysis and design of the RF interface circuits, digital circuits and EEPROM circuits. After an analysis of the RF interface circuits and EEPROM circuits, the correct results are verified by HSPICE simunication. In the design of the digital ciucuits, the modules are realized by using Verilog HDL according to the specifications. After finishing the codes, testbenchs for every module are written and the functions are simulated in Modelsim SE 6.1b. At last the design is inputed to Synplify Pro to accomplish synthesis. In addition, the layout of the RF interface circuits which adopts 0.6 micron double poly double metal mixed signal technology in CSMC technologies corporation is designed.Every circuit has been simulated a lot and the results are verified to accord to the design requirements.
