RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology is a new technology of auto identification in recent years. Wireless and bidirectional communication between reader and contactless card is their communication mode and to identify the object and to swap data by radio frequency identification. The power of IC card circuit is supplied by the power of electromagnetic wave from reader. Compared with other auto identification technologies, the RFID technology has many advantages such as reliability, security, convenience, high speed and so on.The objective of this paper is to study and design the digital section of the contactless RFID integrated circuits cards working in 13.56 MHz. At first of this paper, the development and the composing of the RFID system is discussed and expounded in general. The working principle in physics and in communication of the HF RFID system is described and analyzed in detail. Based on the ISO/IEC 14443 Type A transmission protocol, Top-down design methodology is used to design the integrated circuits card from the top module to detailed module. The system function analysis and module partition is described in this paper. The emphasis is focused on the analysis of the FSM and the design of the data transceiver module and the CRC module, including emulational waveform and synthesis of some module. At the end of this paper, the EEPROM circuit is studied in detail, and some peripheral circuits of the EEPROM are designed simply.
