Information Retrieval Technology Research And Applications, Integration Of Resources In The Journal

In the university libraries, the periodical is one kind of literature that has been mostly used and has the highest information value and is at the most important place. The periodical has short public cycle, fresh content and huge information. It can systematically reflect the newest technical tendency and so on, so it is the necessary material for the universities teachers and students to be engaged in the teaching and the scientific research activity. But the periodical resources have many types, huge data quantity and different forms. And also different periodical resources often has the independent database, the retrieval system and the issue system, this causes the periodical resources of the library dispersible disorderly and causes much trouble to the reader's retrieval and use. Therefore, we need to carry on the integration to the periodical resources and build a unified retrieval platform in order to effectively promote the periodical resources orderly and realize the access between periodical resources with different types. Thus it can keep the system integrity and the connection of the knowledge system and enhances the use factor of the periodical工resources and readers' retrieval efficiency.Firstly, this pager has conducted thorough research on the type, the structure and the form of the metadata as well as Dublin core. According to the reality of our library, we have established metadata form of the periodical resources by the Dublin core standard that is general widely used in the resources retrieval at present. Secondly, this article also has studied thoroughly on the basic principle and the way of the periodical resources integration and has carried on the integration of the periodical resources based on the metadata. Next, the paper carried on the discussion to the Ontology that is a kind of emerging concept conduction tools and proposed the mentality to make the Ontology fuse into the information retrieval technology.The paper explained detailed about the main design, thought of the information retrieval system based on Ontology and realization process of each function module. And it carried on the summary with the work of the research and development and carried on the forecast to the furore work. The research work in this dissertation has laid a good foundation for the construction and development of the periodical resource integration a digital library.
