Abstract/Summary:
With the development of the computer technology, compression coding has been widely used in television broadcasting, video surveillance and home entertainment and so on. As the newest video compression standard, H.264 is also one of the research hotspots in the image communication field. Network multimedia surveillance combines of variety of multimedia information, interactivity of computers, and distribution of communication. The embedded network video monitoring system is becoming a trend of monitoring systems because of its advantages such as small volume, greater stability, resource saving and convenience. In this thesis, the Intra-Frame mode selection of H.264 coding is discussed, and an improved algorithm is proposed. Then the design of a surveillance system is introduced. At last, a demonstration is given.Though H.264 obtains a superexcellent coding efficiency, its computational complexity is very high. This thesis analyses H.264 standard and its key technologies. With the research of image texture and the correlation of the abut mode, This paper proposes a new Intra-frame mode selection algorithm which can decrease the computational complexity, Experimental results show that it has a good performance and can perform well to all kind of image sequences.An embedded network video monitoring system is proposed in this thesis. The system is composed of a front networking camera subsystem and a remote monitoring client subsystem. The design of the remote monitoring client subsystem is the key part in this thesis. It is a type of remote monitoring client software based on C/S architecture. The client software is designed using the object oriented design (OOD) and the component technology. The client software is divided into several parts. Each part is independently to other modules. The modules communicate with each other depending on the immovable parameters. This can avoid the mistakes from floating to the other modules. Experiment proves this system has characteristics of stability, low-cost, easy implementation, etc.Finally, this paper introduces the system framework and functional modules of the embedded video surveillance system, performance and application prospects.
